This wine (affectionately known as a “baby” Châteauneuf-du-Pape from the Southern Rhône) is grown on the same prized soils as Châteauneuf, just across the road — same flavour profile — different label requirements.
For the design, I dusted off my best blackletter typeface and got stuck in. I really enjoyed researching the old fonts and styling associated with the historic appellation. In many cases, I customised the type to echo the character of antique wine labels — giving the final result a sense of authenticity.
